Nice idea: make your logo responsive, to match current need for logo that adapts to different environments, media and sizes. Scalable, but also capable of shifting in shape as browser window or other device characteristics changes.

Yes, a logo needs to be recognized and to stand out. But just because of that, it’s sometimes better to change the shapes and composition a little than to just size it down to such a small size that makes your logo unreadable. With the aim to maintain the typical look-and-feel of the logo forms to keep its specific communication value.
